The Sound of Music and More About Me.

No, the elliptical-car connection did not happen. Yes, I wish it did. I am dying to go for a run, and I’m sure my 5k time would thank me, but I know I won’t be doing myself any favors tackling these hills! It’s like the sound of music around here!

The HILLS might be alive with the sound of music, but I’d almost certainly be dead after about .005 miles.

So what instead? How about a tasty summer dinner complete with a healthy choice AND a cheat food!?

Roasted Potatoes, Rosemary chicken

After a rocky start, we were finally able to get the grill started, but apparently, I’m much too impatient for that nonsense, so instead, I cooked mine on the stove. Roasted new potatoes along with rosemary balsamic chicken and yes…a HOTDOG. Bizarre choice for a vacation cheat, but whatever. It was a perfect little summer dinner.

Now friends, as a little thank you for your faithful readership, it’s time for another revealing “ABOUT BRITTANY” post. Only, it won’t really be all that revealing. BUT, in all seriousness, thank you ALL for taking the time to read my babbling posts! As always, I’d love to hear from you!

And now, for a staple among the blogosphere. The Alphabet List! 26 things all about me –one for each letter of the alphabet!

Avocados. Avocados are absolutely among my favoritest of foods.

Brittany. That’s my name. You can read more about Brittany here.

Cupcakes. I think they’re my favorite dessert. I could probably eat about 24 of them.

Dance Moms. It’s probably my favorite show currently. Please do NOT judge. It’s fantastically mind-numbing. I suggest you watch it. Tuesdays at 9 pm on Lifetime.

Eggplant parmesan. One of my favorite meals of all time. My mother’s is amazing.

Fish. Fish kind of freak me out. I’m not sure why, it may be because when I was little, we had a GIGANTIC aquarium in my living room that had fresh water SHARKS in it. And also algae-eaters that liked to jump.

Ghost stories. I love ghost stories and scary movies. I usually can’t handle them, but I talk the talk.

Horses. I may be one of the ONLY little girls who never had a horsey phase. There was even a brief period of time where I tried to FORCE myself to love horses because all of my friends did, but I just couldn’t do it. They’re pretty and all, but so are butterflies.

Iced Coffee. Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee is my favorite coffee in the world. At least in the summer. I wish I had a never-ending DD gift card. I’d go there twelve times a day.

Journeys. I have never traveled much. I didn’t study abroad, and haven’t really been anywhere terribly exciting, but I hope to change all of that (aside from the abroad part) as I get older.

Katherine is one of my best friends. We’ve known each other since we were eleven. She didn’t read my blog for the first 3 weeks though. Maybe it’s time to re-evaluate.

Lifetime. For someone who really doesn’t watch much TV, I spend proportionately too much time on this channel.

Mackinac Island. I just visited it this summer for the first time, but it was incredible. I LOVE that it feels so old-fashioned and everything is so open and beautiful. There are no cars allowed. Just horses, bikes and feet. There’s even a half-marathon there in the fall each year. It’s every fitness enthusiast’s dream come true.

New Year’s Eve. Every single year, New Year’s Eve TOTALLY bums me out. I don’t know why, it’s a holiday filled with festive cheer and happiness and resolution-ing, but I just don’t like it!

Organizing. I love organizing things and making things neat and orderly. I am also a good planner. Even organized chaos is alright in my book.

Post-grad. This whole post-grad. business is proving to be quite baffling! There are so many different places to go and things to do and I want to do them all, but naturally, I can’t. Also, I WANT. TO. BUY. BACK-TO-SCHOOL. THINGS.

Quotes. I love quotes. I love finding appropriate quotes for situations. In fact, I plan to incorporate more of them into this blog! Another fun Brittany fact: I am a HORRIBLE movie-quoter. Seriously, unless it’s a Disney classic movie, Mean Girls, Bridesmaids or Billy Madison (I can’t believe I just admitted that), count me OUT.

Religion. I am currently in the process of finding the perfect church. I was never a weekly church-goer, but I’m hoping to start now. It’s never too late and something just seems to be missing in my life! More stories to come, I’m sure.

Smoothies. I never liked smoothies until very recently, but I’m starting to grow very fond of the endless possibilities! Maybe I’ve been missing out!

Tutor. In college, I directed a couple of different tutoring programs and I continue to do some private tutoring. I love helping people to learn and I would love to ultimately incorporate teaching/tutoring into my Real Life Plan somehow.

Umbrella. I brought an umbrella to class with me every single day of my college career. Why? Because there is absolutely NOTHING I hate more than being soaked by rain. That’s actually not true… there are many things I hate more than that, but it’s definitely up there on the list.

Vegetables. I don’t eat my veggies like I should. I’m working on it though! It should be easy considering I am SURROUNDED by delicious fresh produce at work everyday. I will never be a fan of fresh vegetables though. Mark my words. (I also don’t like salad. That probably should have been under S though.)

Writing. I love to write. I love writing short stories, long stories, blog posts, articles and ridiculous Facebook statuses. Just not poetry. That’s a no-go.

Xylaphone. That’s it.

Yuletide. I love, love, LOVE Christmas. I love Christmas music, Christmas cookies, Christmas presents, Christmas parties.

Zoom. That was my FAVORITE show for many years. When I was little we didn’t have cable so it was PBS all the way. Ohmygod, Zoom. I haven’t thought about that show for YEARS.

  1. Oooh, this post was so cute, lol, I hate salad too so it’s all good. Everyone raves about it and I tried it a couple times during undergrad but it didn’t work out, lol. You also just reminded me about the show Zoom haha. I would have commented on the other posts but I’ve been really busy for the past few days (lots of class readings). Also, I almost typed I’ve been really busty instead of I’ve been really busy 😀 :D.
